So you’ve heard of the upcoming Edible Garden Trail scheduled for this Saturday, 27 April.

Maybe you’ve seen a flier or two around town. Or maybe something mentioned online.

But, that said, you still have questions.

WHO

The who involves the day’s sponsor, this being the environmentally focused members of Syntropic Solutions. The day’s sponsor and you, part of what is expected to be in the vicinity of 1000 like-minded, green thumbed and curious gardening aficionados.

WHAT

Garden tours, the sharing of gardening tips and chances to get the hands dirty for young and old alike with seedling planting activities and even food stalls.

As for the Southern Beaches Community Garden specifically, we will be offering:

  • Garden tours of our grounds at the top of each hour.
  • The opportunity to buy fruit and veggie seedlings from our Propagation Area.
  • A creative potting workshop which participants will be allowed to take home for free.
  • Two food stalls, one serving up Germany-styled food and the other, a French-style Paella dish cooked on a traditional clay pot.

 

WHEN

In case you missed it, the Edible Garden Trail will be a full-day event this Saturday 27, April from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE

The where for this year’s event will involve 8 gardens. Eight gardens that stretch between the Southern Beaches Community Garden in Tugun and continue as far north to Ediblescapes in Nerang and as far west as the Mudbrick Herb Cottage in Mudgeeraba.

In addition to these eight gardens, there are other points of interests involving micro farms, roadside stalls, restaurants and little eateries to break up your day as you commute from one garden to the next.

HOW

Simply go online at https://events.humanitix.com/gold-coast-edible-garden-trail and buy your ticket. Tickets for adults are $16.50 and free for those 13 years of age and under.

Once purchased, your digital ticket will be emailed to you. This will include a digital Trail Guide with a detailed map giving in-depth instructions and explanations of all the gardens and points of interests participating in this day’s event.
